  • Prayer Request

I don't know how many of you have heard of the book Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris. But its a Teenage Rebellion against low expectation.

Do Hard Things has inspired me and Helped me soo much in my walk with the Lord! Before this book I was LAZY (yeah I admit it) I was lazy in my schoolwork, in my chores, and even my walk with the Lord. But after reading the book it left me realizing that the ceiling was VERY close to the floor when it came to the expectations for myself and THAT HAD TO STOP! I realized that in NO WAY thats what God wanted from me.

Since reading the book I have a planner with the schoolwork and chores I need to get done for the day and I try my very best with the Lord's help to get it done. My desire to grow in the Lord has grown tremendously! I know this is not a spiritaul high either because its lasting!

So what is the prayer request?

I have a desire to start a DO HARD THINGS Bible study in my church for the youth. I would LOVE for you to pray about this. I have talked to my mom, dad, and I have emailed my pastor. I don't have a green light yet (or any light for that matter) Please pray that if this study is not His will that it is blocked. I don't want to do this if it is not His will because I know if I do it and its not His will it will fail.

Thanks for your prayers friends! I love you and appreciate you!

  • An entry from my journal of some wonderful reminders

Things DON'T JUST HAPPEN! God has a plan for you and a good one at that.

"For I know the plans I have for you declares the Lord.
Plans to Prosper you and not to harm you.
Plans to give you a hope and a future."
    ~Jer. 29:11

    TRUST HIM

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart
    and lean not on your own understanding;

in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight."

    Proverbs 3:5-6

I don't think this means everything will be easy but I think that its much better than us trying to muddle are way through things on our own.

    CAST YOUR CARES ON HIM

"Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you."
    1 Peter 5:7

    FIX YOUR EYES ON HIM.

"Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,
who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God."
    Hebrews 12:2

    THERE IS HOPE IN HIM.
"We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield."
    psalm 33:20

  • Valley Song Lyrics

    Artist(Band):Jars Of Clay

You have led me to the sadness
    I have carried this pain
On a back bruised, nearly broken
    I'm crying out to you

    Chorus
I will sing of Your mercy
That leads me through valleys of sorrow
    To rivers of joy

    When death like a Gypsy
Comes to steal what I love
I will still look to the heavens
I will still seek your face

But I fear you aren't listening
    Because there are no words
Just the stillness and the hunger
    For a faith that assures

    Chorus x2

    Alleluia, alleluia
    Alleluia, alleluia

    While we wait for rescue
    With our eyes tightly shut
Face to the ground using our hands
    To cover the fatal cut

And though the pain is an ocean
    Tossing us around, around, around
    You have calmed greater waters
    Higher mountains have come down

    Chorus

    Yeah

    Alleluia, alleluia
    Alleluia, alleluia

    Alleluia, alleluia alleluia, alleluia
    Alleluia, alleluia alleluia, alleluia

    Chorus (4 Xs)

Oh, Lord sing of Your mercy,
    Mercy
    Your mercy

Do Hard Things: A Teenage Rebellion Against Low Expectations
    By Alex Harris, Brett Harris
    see related
So I haven't been back here in awhile...I have had alot going on....

I have been reading Do Hard Things by Alex and Brett Harris and that has lead to some big changes in my life and my relationship with Christ Jesus. My life has taken so many turns and I am afraid I have not kept you friends here on xanga up to date!

I think the biggest thing that has changed though is just my desires have changed. I desire what Christ wants for me now and not as much of what the world wants. I have surrendered my life to Him again and I found that I have to keep doing that...Its soo easy to get caught up in other things and I just have to keep surrendering my life to Christ and keep being "hot on His heels".

But surrendering to Christ is soo much easier once you do it. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. haha you would think I would have learned this by now! But I have been relearning alot of things and its such a blessing!

Well I have to go now! I hope to write again soon.
